Hand-turned on one of my wood lathes, the wood barrels f this pen are from the an ancient Magnolia tree from south of Memphis, Tennessee. into the cap end of the barrel, I've laminated two Celtic crosses. The upper one is black walnut and the lower one is bloodwood.
The Diplomat model is one of my most popular pen styles. I elected a long time ago to use only the finest materials for the writing instruments I create. So, the metal parts on nearly all my pens are plated with expensive platinum and black titanium and the mechanical parts are the most durable and dependable I can find. The finishes I use on these pens ensures that the natural oils in your fingers won’t affect the appearance of the wood.
